"Not all travelogues need to be heavy philosophical discourses, or ignore the effect of shoes on the world’s economy...This was a fun book. Berg is the kind of no-nonsense person that makes reading personal journals fun."
–Portland Book Review
"Berg hilariously recounts her struggles to assimilate into a vastly different culture, one in which, as a single woman, her ability to move around without a male companion is severely limited. In the mixture of all these issues, Berg carves out a strong and caring community of students and friends while picking up a few new pairs of shoes along the way." — Booklist
Originally published in 2012, by Sourcebooks, the new & improved edition of I Have Iraq in My Shoe is now available! Feeling very Taylor Swift, I had the rights reverted to me, and have made some much needed revisions (errors were all mine, Sourcebooks did an incredibly thorough job of editing and copyediting the first edition).
This is a fresh update of the story, and has been dressed up with a brand-new cover. The old edition of the book will still be floating around out there (purple cover), but I recommend this one. It’s so much better.
